About the role

The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and driving sales. This role involves managing a team, promoting the GameStop brand, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a multiunit store, ensuring prompt and accurate guest service.
  • Support the shopping environment, including visual merchandising and sales initiatives.
  • Process guest purchases and returns efficiently using the POS system.
  • Promote GameStop's guest benefits and recruit, train, and retain associates.
  • Schedule and supervise staff, ensuring optimal guest service and meeting sales goals.
  • Perform inventory counts, maintain store cleanliness, and fulfill orders.
  • Ensure safety and security protocols are followed, and report incidents promptly.
  • Lead the store team to exceed sales and profit targets, and complete administrative duties.

Qualifications

  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the US.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of retail management experience required; 3 years preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.

  • Genuine and individualized guest service skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in person and on the phone.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.
  • Basic math and alphabetizing skills.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the store for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Working understanding of military ranks and insignia (for positions on military bases).
