About the role
The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and driving sales. This role involves managing a team, promoting the GameStop brand, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a multiunit store, ensuring prompt and accurate guest service.
- Support the shopping environment, including visual merchandising and sales initiatives.
- Process guest purchases and returns efficiently using the POS system.
- Promote GameStop's guest benefits and recruit, train, and retain associates.
- Schedule and supervise staff, ensuring optimal guest service and meeting sales goals.
- Perform inventory counts, maintain store cleanliness, and fulfill orders.
- Ensure safety and security protocols are followed, and report incidents promptly.
- Lead the store team to exceed sales and profit targets, and complete administrative duties.
Qualifications
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the US.
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of retail management experience required; 3 years preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.

- Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in person and on the phone.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team.
- Basic math and alphabetizing skills.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the store for up to 12 hours per day.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Working understanding of military ranks and insignia (for positions on military bases).
