About the role
The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and driving sales through exceptional customer service and strategic management.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a multiunit store, ensuring prompt and courteous guest service
- Support the shopping environment, promoting GameStop's guest benefits and fulfilling orders
- Recruit, train, and supervise a retail staff, ensuring compliance with company policies
- Schedule and manage store associates, maintaining optimal guest service standards
- Ensure accurate inventory management, handling defects and recalls, and completing administrative tasks
- Count and reconcile daily transactions, maintain store records, and report on store performance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of retail management experience
- At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred
- Video game knowledge preferred
Qualifications
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Outgoing personality with strong people skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills
- Ability to stand, move, bend, stoop, crouch, stretch, reach, lift up to 30 lbs., and perform other basic fine and gross motor skills
