About the role
The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and driving sales through exceptional customer service and strategic product promotion.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a multiunit store, ensuring prompt and courteous guest service
- Support the shopping environment, promoting GameStop’s unique guest benefits and fulfilling Omni-Channel orders
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain high-performing associates, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures
- Schedule and supervise staff, maintaining optimal guest service and achieving sales and profit targets
- Perform administrative tasks such as processing payments, reconciling transactions, and managing inventory
- Ensure store cleanliness and organize merchandise, addressing safety concerns and reporting incidents
- Lead a team in meeting and exceeding sales and profit goals, while adhering to company policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old and provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the US
- At least 1 year of retail management experience, and at least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a related field preferred
- Video game knowledge is preferred

- Outgoing personality with strong people skills, providing genuine assistance to guests
- Clear verbal and written communication, both in person and on the phone, using English (bilingual English/Spanish preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting leadership performance expectations
- Basic math skills, ability to operate a Point-of-Sale (POS) computer system, and proficiency in completing required paperwork
- Constructive management of stress and adaptability to fast-paced environments, reliability, and trustworthiness
