Position starts at $22.00 with annual merit increases and production bonuses. This role offers the opportunity to earn quarterly incentive pay based on store performance, with eligible team members able to earn additional quarterly payouts of up to over $1,000.

About the role

Assists with the management, leadership, and operations of a retail store and donation center by performing the duties outlined below.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to other retail locations within and outside of the assigned home district as needed.
  • Work with the District Manager and Store Managers to develop operational and leadership skills necessary for Store Manager duties.
  • Direct store activities—verbally, in writing, and physically—to ensure satisfactory financial performance, including managing sales, production, expenses, payroll budgets, personnel issues, accounting, merchandising, loss prevention, and staff development.
  • Support the Store Manager in interviews, hiring, and onboarding of new hires.
  • Ensure all employees are trained, developed, and attend required orientations and classes.
  • Confirm daily sales reports and cash receipts; ensure regular deposits and timely report submission per Agency policies.
  • Coordinate shipments and adjust inventory to meet sales goals.
  • Open and close the retail store, performing administrative and clerical duties such as bank deposits and securing the building.
  • Issue refunds and resolve customer complaints, providing prompt and courteous service to customers and donors.
  • Manage production of donated goods to maximize sales potential according to established guidelines.
  • Rotate, categorize, and arrange merchandise by color following guidelines.
  • Perform work of store personnel as needed.
  • Maintain and motivate a positive sales team through communication, incentives, and evaluations.
  • Report known or suspected security or theft problems to the Store Manager or other management.
  • Supervise store personnel and activities in the absence of, or at the direction of, the Store Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise store employees in the absence of, or at the direction of, the Store Manager or District Manager.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems; manage budgets.
  • Report building and equipment repair or replacement needs to the Store Manager or Retail Operations/Area Operations Director.
  • Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned by the Store Manager or Retail Operations/Area Operations Director.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of retail management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable automobile.
