About the Role
Assist the store manager in sales, store appearance, and overall operations while receiving hands-on training to prepare for a future management position in another store or location.
Responsibilities
- Supervise professional and retail operations of the store and team members, including:
- Delivery and installer service specialists (professional operations)
- Parts and merchandising specialists (retail operations)
- Oversee work performed by all assigned team members.
- Collaborate with district and store managers in recruiting, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members.
- Communicate key information from weekly and monthly manager meetings to all team members.
- Train new team members and conduct performance evaluations, including recommending pay increases.
- Support the store manager in safety compliance and training for all team members.
- Monitor and reinforce safety expectations.
- Make sales calls with or without the store manager; may be assigned weekly customer calls.
- Assist with store operations as assigned by the store manager.
- Maintain the delivery fleet and records for each vehicle.
- Ensure the store/HUB store remains neat, clean, and organized at all times.
- Learn and utilize electronic scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll systems.
- Manage key components of gross profit, including:
- Monitoring professional customer returns for core and warranty abuse.
- Reviewing competitive price matches and price overrides for proper use.
- Tracking individual team member productivity and KPIs daily.
- Reviewing the monthly P&L statement with the store manager to identify areas of opportunity.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Completion of Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
- Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately.
- Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience.
- Completed O’Reilly management training program.
- Advanced computer skills.
- ASE Certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
