Pay range: $26.57 - $32.48 per hour. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses and premiums based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
About the role
The Store Manager is responsible for the sales, profitability, appearance, and overall operations of the store. The position aims to drive consistent sales growth, ensure the store exemplifies the proper O’Reilly image, operates as a profit center, and follows policies and procedures to maximize economic and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Maximize sales by directing team members to provide customers with prompt, courteous, and professional service.
- Solicit orders, sell company products, and represent the company in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain and grow the customer base, increase sales volume, review customer needs to gain market share, and solicit both stocking-type business and daily needs/equipment sales.
- Communicate and coordinate sales call efforts with the Territory Sales Manager.
- Supervise all store team members, working jointly with the District Manager in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members.
- Develop and post work schedules using sales and payroll forecasting recommendations.
- Review team member timecards for accuracy and correct missed punches daily.
- Ensure team members continually improve their skills through company training on policies, customer service, computer operations, catalogs, sales, and safety.
- Work with the Sales and Pricing Departments to establish pricing levels for professional customers.
- Maximize gross profit on outside purchases and monitor non-competitive price overrides/price matches to ensure policy compliance and profitability.
- Ensure the store operates according to all company policies and procedures, and communicate new information to team members as needed.
- Implement planogram changes and merchandising plans as outlined.
- Provide accurate and timely stock adjustment recaps to the Inventory Control Department.
- Handle all daily store accounting functions, including sales reports, bank deposits, cash drawers, and processing checks.
- Monitor charge accounts and address past-due situations promptly, communicating with the Territory Sales Manager and credit department.
- Implement loss prevention procedures in susceptible areas, including billing, cash refunds, credit, stock transfers, core/warranty procedures, key control, and shoplifting prevention.
- Ensure store vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and inspections are completed properly.
- Report property/building needs using the Maintenance and Repair System (MARS) or to the District Manager.
- Attend the Annual Managers' Conference.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Completion of Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and Manager Development Program module.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage time efficiently.
- Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Parts Professional Certification or ASE certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
