About the Role

CELINE is seeking a Store Manager to lead the team at its Fashion Valley Shopping Center location, opening July 2024. This role is responsible for overall store management, including staff, merchandise, customer service, and achieving sales objectives while maintaining high operational and merchandising standards.

Responsibilities

  • Organization: Maintain a clear and effective store organization by support functions and product categories; communicate all organizational changes within the store.
  • Recruitment and Induction: Engage in the recruiting process alongside Human Resources and the Regional Manager; provide systematic induction for new staff and organize follow-up knowledge reviews.
  • Staff Development and Retention:
    • Motivate the team by fostering a collaborative environment and team spirit.
    • Conduct monthly one-to-one staff reviews.
    • Identify individual strengths and areas for improvement through the Retail OMR process with HR guidance.
    • Evaluate staff performance via the MPP process.
    • Retain staff by developing their growth potential.
  • Customer Service:
    • Assist sales associates with customer service issues, including repairs, returns, defective merchandise, and dissatisfied customers.
    • Coach and develop the team to maintain the highest degree of customer service daily.
  • Operations:
    • Use Retail Pro for inventory management.
    • Work with the Buyer for OTB and ordering responsibilities.
    • Provide monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports to the NY management team.
    • Maintain positive relationships with corporate, regional, mail office, repair facility, and other stores.
    • Oversee full Profit and Loss responsibility, focusing on controllable expenses and sales plans.
    • Manage the Stock Associate to maintain proper SKU levels, dollar levels, and model stocks using the current POS system.
    • Ensure staff proficiency with store systems and meet cycle/physical inventory requirements set by NY management.
  • Store Appearance:
    • Adhere to and enforce grooming and styling standards for the entire team.
    • Monitor store cleanliness, maintenance, organization, and tidiness of sales and back-of-house areas.
  • Administration:
    • Ensure key documents, such as working contracts and invoices, are stored securely.
    • Create staff work schedules and ensure appropriate store coverage.
    • Manage planning for paid holidays, absences, and report accordingly.
  • Sales:
    • Empower sales staff and ensure Céline customer service principles are followed.
    • Drive sales to meet or exceed budgets.
    • Support sales associates in fortifying client relationships through clienteling.
    • Monitor daily store sales performance and monthly sales performance of associates.
    • Set individual monthly objectives for each team member.
  • Product Category Management:
    • Understand and explain store performance by category and its mix (lines, functions, collections, etc.).
    • Keep all product support tools organized and ensure team access to information.
  • Store Visuals: Maintain merchandising standards as set by the corporate visual department in partnership with the Visual Merchandiser.
  • Human Resources:
    • Supervise store personnel and carry out company policies.
    • Manage payroll, including timely submission of timesheets using Kronos, verification of employee hours, etc.
    • Identify and own all store recruitment needs; recruit, assess, and interview talent in partnership with Regional and HR teams.
    • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills in dealing with staff, peers, supervisors, and corporate offices in NY and Paris.
    • Handle personnel matters, including hiring and termination (with approval from Regional & HR).
    • Coach and develop employees in all areas of performance and lead full MPP responsibility.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years in store management experience, preferably in a luxury setting.
  • Education: Business School, University, or equivalent experience.
  • Computer literate; ability to learn and use various software packages.

Pay

The compensation for this position ranges from $125,000 to $150,000 annually, dependent on candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
