About the role
The Store Manager is primarily responsible for promoting a customer and product-focused sales culture where brand values and guiding principles are at the forefront of all store operations, including managing sales operations, asset protection, and human resources functions to ensure great customer experience and maximum profitability.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes sales reports and KPIs to determine business needs; executes in-store business and sales strategies.
- Establishes and communicates clear expectations, holding store team and themselves accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.
- Controls payroll and supply budget.
- Performs and oversees operational activities such as scheduling, shrink audits, physical inventory, opening/closing duties, time sheet review, payroll accuracy, and merchandise flow processes.
- Oversees all financial activities including cash handling, reporting, price changes, and merchandise handling; trains associates to ensure accurate register transactions.
- Ensures compliance with laws, loss prevention policies, operating procedures, and controls; conducts associate training on proper controls.
- Administers operational processes including inventory receipt/dispatch, daily floor replenishment, and physical inventory preparation.
- Ensures visual presentation, organization, and facility maintenance align with brand standards.
- Develops a high-performance culture, motivating the sales team to meet sales and productivity goals.
- Trains and develops store management team on business acumen to drive overall performance.
- Trains and coaches the selling team on product knowledge, locate fulfillment, and selling.
- Motivates and inspires the store team, developing a shared vision while modeling core values.
- Promotes an inclusive, collaborative approach to problem solving and communicates effectively with store teams and field leadership.
- Models, teaches, and promotes the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles for a cohesive omni-channel experience.
- Ensures prompt resolution of customer concerns and a fast, efficient register experience.
- Ensures team maintains consistent client communication through customer book, rewards program participation, and customer capture sign-ups.
- Attracts, recruits, hires, and retains a high-performing team; conducts ongoing talent development discussions.
- Recommends associate status changes, including promotions, demotions, and terminations.
- Interprets KPI reports, delivers coaching, and supports training programs.
- Assesses and coaches store team on performance; provides performance evaluations.
- Resolves human resources issues in partnership with the District Store Manager.
- Drives associate and team engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
- Ensures store management team adheres to all employment practices and policies.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of retail management experience required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills.
- Proven excellent customer service skills with a track record in sales and leadership.
- Ability to learn or adapt to company-provided technology.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Established history in recruiting and retaining quality sales and support staff.
- General knowledge of apparel products (e.g., fit and fabric).
- Excellent leadership, training, and team-building skills.
- Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff.
- Evidence of community outreach and involvement.
- Regular attendance is essential to ensure adequate coverage and meet company objectives.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Constant walking/standing: 67–100% of an 8-hour shift.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.: 1–33% of an 8-hour shift.
- Frequent climbing: 34–66% of an 8-hour shift.
Pay
The wage range for this position is $30.50 to $38.25. Successful candidates’ wage rates will be determined based on their individual qualifications.
