Job Responsibilities/Tasks
- Maintains and analyzes customer service provided by team members.
- Offers reminders, training, and encouragement.
- Develops action plans for improvement in both retail and pharmacy.
- Greets customers and clinic patients, and offers assistance with products and services.
- Models and shares customer service best practices.
- Delivers a distinctive and delightful customer and patient experience.
- Solves customer complaints and helps respond to customers' special needs.
- Supervises store and pharmacy operations.
- Controls store money, including register counts, withdrawals, armored car pickups, safe deposits, change orders, and bookkeeping.
- Merges merchandising by planning and implementing sets and resets, and managing inventory.
- Ensures compliance with laws and regulations, including alcohol, tobacco, fresh food, and pharmacy product sales.
- Manages operations, including responding to emergencies and maintaining cleanliness and presentation of store/grounds.
- Manages business performance.
- Analyzes financial and performance data.
- Reviews KPIs daily and prepares to discuss with district management.
- Analyzes pharmacy and clinic performance indicators.
- Manages inventory levels through ordering, keeping stock, liquidating stock, and anticipating changes.
- Manages people and performance.
- Manages team member performance by assigning responsibilities, setting goals, and providing feedback.
- Makes hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
- Addresses issues and disciplines store team members.
- Develops employee performance plans and follows up according to deadlines.
- Maintains compliance with corporate policies and laws.
- Trains and develops employees.
- Participates in company and on-the-job training.
- Attends training requested by District Management and corporate.
- Follows performance improvement plans.
- Pursues PTCB or ExCPT certification if required by state.
People and Performance Management
- Manages team member performance by assigning responsibilities, setting goals, and providing feedback.
- Makes hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.

- Develops employee performance plans and follows up according to deadlines.
- Maintains compliance with corporate policies and laws.
Training and Personal Development
- Participates in company and on-the-job training.
- Attends training requested by District Management and corporate.
- Follows performance improvement plans.
- Pursues PTCB or ExCPT certification if required by state.
- Monitors own performance, sets high personal standards, learns about retail and management fields, seeks best practices, and learns about pharmacy.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years retail management experience or High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of retail management experience.
- Licensed pharmacy technician as required by state OR pharmacy assistant in WA state OR licensed RPh as soon as possible given state law requirements, no later than 12 months from Store Manager position start date.
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- PTCB or ExCPT Certification.
- Three years retail management experience, including supervising others, managing, and assigning work.
- Licensed pharmacy technician as required by state OR pharmacy assistant in WA state OR licensed RPh.
