Store Manager
About the Role
Managers In Training will learn how to successfully manage the day-to-day responsibilities of running a Turkey Hill convenience store location. You’ll spend time with a Training Manager and Supervising Manager during training, working various shifts to learn about our company, retail team, vendors, and guests. This role supports the Store Manager and team in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience.
After training, you’ll join our bench leadership team, filling in during absences until assigned to your own store. With nearly 1,500 locations across the U.S., there are always opportunities for growth within our parent company, Cumberland Farms.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a warm welcome and a smile, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Assist the Store Manager in building and developing a strong store team through training, scheduling, and coaching.
- Set clear and measurable goals, hold yourself and others accountable, and communicate frequently and effectively.
- Monitor product levels on the sales floor, rotate stock, and ensure 100% in-stock availability for guests.
- Maintain overall store appearance and cleanliness, including the coffee station, food service area, and bathrooms.
- Operate the cash register efficiently.
- Oversee quality control, merchandising, and food safety programs in locations offering hot food.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager.
Our stores are open to guests rain or shine, including weekends and holidays. Every team member contributes to delivering the best experience by participating in all aspects of the job.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum Experience: 1 year in retail or food service.
- Preferred Experience: 1 year in retail, guest service, or restaurant leadership.
- ServSafe/Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Comfortable interacting with guests and team members in a high-energy environment.
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to support others.
- Basic computer skills.
Schedule
This is a full-time position requiring a variety of hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Stores may operate 24 hours depending on location.

Training Process
During official training weeks, you’ll work alongside Training Managers to gain best practices for managing a convenience store. Supervisory weeks (between training weeks) involve working various shifts with team members to apply leadership training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours a day, reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, grasp, and work in cooler temperatures.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Specialized attire (e.g., hats, visors, gloves) provided for food establishments.

- 5% travel required (e.g., delivering deposits to the bank; own vehicle needed where applicable).
