Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, and maximize the entire business operations of an assigned Sprouts store and all related departments (Produce, Bakery, Deli, Meat, Dairy, Frozen Foods, Vitamins, Beer/Wine, Bulk Foods, and all other areas)
• Ensure efficient and profitable store operations, including cleanliness, safety, and well-stocked inventory across all departments
• Accountable for profits and losses, hiring and termination of employees, disciplinary actions, team member training and development, inventory, sales promotion execution, and merchandising
• Manage staff issues, department managers, customer complaints, community relations, compliance with store policies, and other administrative duties
• Coordinate sales promotion activities and prepare/supervise preparation of merchandise displays and advertising copy
• Maintain strong focus on food safety and sanitation: ensure all food sold is fresh, check dates on merchandise (dairy, meats, baked goods), and pull expired food regularly
• Hold and maintain Food Safety certification; ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations for labor, health, safety, sanitation, and OSHA requirements
• Handle emergencies, crises, and daily problems; write reports for accidents or incidents involving employees or customers in the store or parking lot per company procedures
• Analyze personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals to drive performance

Qualifications

• 1–3 years retail management experience
• Degree in business, management, marketing, retailing, communications, advertising, liberal arts, or related field preferred
• Dependable and reliable with ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and flexibility with store assignments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to give direction while participating in a team environment
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with positive attitude; ability to engage customers
• Manage department staff: interviewing, hiring, training, development, timely performance appraisals, feedback, scheduling, counseling, and terminating
• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff; working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
• Strong detail orientation, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organization and planning skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs., bend, reach, kneel, squat, and stand for long periods
