Store Manager

Role Overview

Responsible for managing store operations, including staffing, training, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. Ensures store is properly staffed, maintains safety standards, and oversees daily opening and closing. Evaluates sales trends, manages inventory levels, and controls expenses to meet business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate employees in compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Communicate performance expectations and conduct regular safety and policy meetings.
• Evaluate financial statements to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Order merchandise to meet or exceed stock targets, manage inventory accuracy, and ensure proper presentation.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and safety for staff and customers.
• Ensure cash handling accuracy, security, and adherence to financial controls.
• Provide excellent customer service and foster a positive shopping environment.
• Follow company policies, complete documentation, and ensure compliance across all operations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret safety instructions, manuals, and procedures.
• Proficiency in basic math, cash handling, and inventory management.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, legal compliance, and store security practices.
• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish) and retail management experience.

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Management experience in retail is advantageous.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting (up to 55 lbs), and occasional climbing.
• Requires handling merchandise and equipment, driving for store-related tasks, and working in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise.
• May be exposed to outside weather conditions.
