About the Role

J.McLaughlin is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Store Manager for our retail store. The ideal candidate is sales-driven, leads by example, and builds impactful relationships while upholding the company’s ideals and standards. The Store Manager oversees all aspects of the business, including sales, customer service, visual merchandising, team development, staffing, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Brand Ambassador by embracing the company culture to develop and cultivate productive and profitable relationships with clients and communities.
  • Motivate and engage the store team by setting clear goals and expectations to achieve objectives and contribute to overall store success.
  • Provide exemplary client service to create a customer-centric, friendly retail environment that fosters loyalty.
  • Manage store operations efficiently to ensure profitability and productivity.
  • Oversee all aspects of the business, including hiring, scheduling, training, merchandising, loss prevention, customer service, expenses, payroll, and inventory management.
  • Create and maintain a culture of kindness that is client and team-focused.
  • Recruit and hire top talent; train and develop teams on selling skills, product knowledge, and operations.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide in-the-moment coaching to maximize sales and motivate the team.
  • Strategize and implement a client outreach plan using clienteling tools.
  • Effectively use the POS system to provide exemplary service.
  • Partner with community organizations and charities to host store events and trunk shows, building a reputation as a local and loyal retailer.
  • Drive sales by demonstrating extensive product knowledge and making appropriate client suggestions.
  • Hold the team accountable for achieving goals and monitor sales trends to execute plans that maximize sales.
  • Communicate business needs with the District Manager and store teams, sharing best practices and building productive relationships.
  • Respond to customer questions, inquiries, and concerns to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Plan and prioritize workload, ensuring the customer remains the top priority.
  • Merchandise the sales floor to maximize sales while adhering to visual directives and standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store to ensure a great place to work and shop.
  • Partner with the District Manager and Human Resources on employee relations and performance issues.
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies, procedures, and standards of professionalism.
  • Lead by example and maintain the highest level of integrity at all times.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of retail management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales goals and taking accountability for results.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and results-driven attitude.
  • Consistently demonstrates accountability, reliability, and professionalism.
  • High energy and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to multi-task while keeping the customer the top priority.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and able to lift up to 30 pounds.
