Store Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Store Manager who will lead our team in achieving sales targets, recruiting, developing, and retaining a passionate and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will also lead the store's operations, communicate with leadership, and merchandise the store effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure store achieves sales plan and/or comp sales goals
• Recruit, develop, and retain a passionate and collaborative team
• Create buzz and customer engagement through social media, store web applications, and clienteling
• Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, schedules, and external factors affecting business
• Communicate with retail leadership and HQ partners on trends and customer feedback
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy
• Maintain a strong bench of equally talented and passionate staff through mentorship, recognition, and feedback
• Merchandise the store compellingly using planograms and launch promotions on time
• Control supply ownership and spend within budgetary guidelines

Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience
• Skills in communication, recruiting, and operations (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising)
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree is preferred
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise product, and pack/unpack boxes weighing up to 50 pounds

• Open-minded and inquisitive about pop culture fandoms and music trends
• Able to work in a fast-changing retail environment

Hot Topic offers a competitive compensation package including a starting hourly rate of $24.15 - $30.20, subject to individual qualifications and other factors.

Pay

The starting hourly rate for this position is $24.15 - $30.20, with final salary determined by various factors including education, location, job requirements, training, and experience.
