Store Driver

About the role
As a Driver, you will safely deliver parts to professional customers, maintain store cleanliness, and build relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers. You’ll also assist in upselling products, stocking inventory, and engaging with walk-in customers to recommend parts or services.
Responsibilities
- Pick, stage, and safely deliver parts to professional customers
- Pick up returns and cores
- Distribute weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
- Collect daily credit accounts
- Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing insights to the CPP
- Assist in upselling and cross-selling to increase average transaction value
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
- Perform general stocking duties, including truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts
- Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
- Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend solutions
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to speak and write English (Spanish a plus)
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills with customers, peers, and leadership
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
- Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
- Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques
Skills
- Safe driving and navigation ability
- Proficiency with delivery board systems
- Friendly and persuasive communication
- Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently
- Knowledge of safety protocols and inventory systems (e.g., back stock)
- Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
Qualifications
- Automotive parts experience is preferred
Physical Demands
- Predominantly walking or standing during shifts
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to weather conditions (e.g., installing batteries or wiper blades)
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
- Moderate noise levels
Pay
The good faith estimate for this role is between $13.50 USD and $14.61 USD per hour for new team members. The rate depends on geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other relevant skillsets.
