About the role

The Amazon Worldwide Grocery Stores is seeking a Store Designer to join the Retail Growth & Development, Enterprise team. This role efficiently drives multiple projects throughout all phases of design, permitting and construction administration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design process, interfacing with internal and external design partners.
  • Adapt site specific conditions metrics and standards to store designs.
  • Build data-driven scope of work with internal stakeholders, focused on servicing operating stores.
  • Develop FF&E and Décor packages.
  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders in the development and production of comprehensive design development packages.
  • Create presentation packages to communicate design with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Drive and create Schematic Design Packages.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Procurement and Operations Teams on budget and schedule considerations and value engineering efforts.
  • Manage consultants throughout all phases of design through the project lifecycle.
  • Provide Construction Administrative support as needed.
  • Archive completed drawings, redlines, and shop drawings.
  • Obtain landlord approvals per lease requirements.
  • Review and approve submittals and shop drawings.

Requirements

  • Experience managing multiple complex projects and adapting to change.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 5+ years of commercial retail design or architecture experience.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of building and health codes, 3D visualization, and industry trends.
  • Communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formats.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solutions oriented, proactive and flexible, willing to take an "all hands-on deck" approach.

Skills

  • Experience with end-to-end ownership of major project deliverables.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
  • Grocery or Retail Experience.
  • Architectural or Interior Design.
  • FF&E Experience.
