Store Counter Sales

About the Role

A NAPA Counter Sales associate serves as the “face of the retail store” and the primary point of contact for customers entering our retail stores for all of their automotive needs. This role is ideal for individuals with a background or knowledge of automotive parts, whether you're looking for a full-time or part-time position, or exploring future career opportunities within NAPA.

Responsibilities

• Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone.
• Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
• Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who visits the store.
• Bring customer focus and high energy to our fast-paced environment.
• Welcome retail customers and engage with them to provide a positive experience.
• Utilize technology such as computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or a willingness to learn all things auto parts.
• High School Diploma or GED. Technical or Trade school courses or degree are a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced retail environments.
• Strong listening skills and empathy for customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
• Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
• Customer-centric mindset (both external and internal customers).
• ASE Certifications.
