Stores Clerk
Responsibilities
- Authorize the accuracy of all orders received in the storeroom and authorize all goods received.
- Contact vendors regarding partial shipments and/or misorders.
- Maintained detailed inventory records and records of items ordered.
- Evaluate and recognize record-keeping or storage procedures as necessary.
- Ensure proper storage procedures and rotation of stock for perishable items.
- Make recommendations on purchase of new equipment for warehouse and maintenance required in building.
- Oversee and assembles equipment received in “knocked down” condition.
- May ensure the security of incarcerated individuals staff assigned to the warehouse.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of requisitioning and disbursing procedures, consumption rates of stored items and inventory control procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of stock items, their locations and the proper methods of storing a variety of goods and supplies based upon efficient space utilization and a variety of state and federal regulations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Practical knowledge of state regulations in handling and storing foodstuffs and perishables.
- Able to train inmates and staff in proper operation of all equipment and proper methods of storage.
- Able to maintain detailed, accurate inventory and purchasing records.
- Able to operate forklift, hand-truck and other mechanical equipment in warehouse.
Qualifications
- A degree is not required. However, experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.
- Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay
