Store Clerk 1 on-call

About the Role

This position prepares the way of salvation and exaltation by making essential gospel teachings, resources, and services accessible to God’s children. It fosters an environment of reverence and respect, helping guide customers to make informed product decisions. This is an entry-level clerk position. The incumbent must be endowed and hold a current temple recommend.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and ascertains their needs
• Provides high-quality customer service, offering product knowledge to assist customers
• Develops understanding of the contents and/or properties of all products to adequately serve customers
• Responds to customer questions regarding curriculum, proper fitting of clothing, or issues of similar complexity
• May provide personal fitting consultation to patrons at the distribution store
• Prepares merchandise for purchase
• Operates point-of-sale terminal, finalizes sales, and processes returns
• May assist the store supervisor in ensuring the store is attractively displayed, well-presented, and has adequate inventory on the shelf
• May assist with inventory and cycle counts
• Performs housekeeping duties to ensure the facility, equipment, and storage areas are in good condition
• Assists in other operational responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to complete internal customer service training within one month of hire
• Basic math, reading, computer, and cashiering skills
• Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to work well with others
• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow standard procedures and written instructions
• Ability to work as scheduled, including Saturdays and holidays
• Must be an endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a current temple recommend

Preferred:

• Retail sales and/or customer service experience

Schedule

Part-time, 8 hours per week. Ability to work as scheduled, including Saturdays and holidays.
