Store Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with oversight of store operations.
• Help with hiring, supervising, and working with staff to accomplish daily tasks, bookkeeping, and merchandising.
• Maintain high standards and provide fast, friendly service to customers.
• Provide regular and predictable onsite attendance.
• Execute the food program to meet established standards.
• Demonstrate urgency, patience, and leadership while caring for customers.
• Lead a team of employees/management.
• Recruit, interview, and hire staff.
• Delegate tasks and follow up on completion.
• Teach and motivate others.
• Plan and organize work activities.
• Communicate plans and ideas effectively.
• Handle cash and perform bookkeeping duties.
• Problem‑solve operational issues.
• Advocate for and empathize with customers and staff.
• Ensure safety and security of the store.

Requirements

• Retail experience.
• Supervisor or management experience.
• Recruiting, hiring, and interviewing skills.
• Experience handling food.
• High school diploma or college degree.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
• Lift and/or carry up to 30 lb from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes per shift.
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 lb from ground to waist level.
• Push/pull with arms against a force of up to 20 lb.
• Bend at the waist with some twisting for up to one hour per shift.
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands; may require climbing a ladder to store/retrieve materials or place/remove signs.

Schedule

Full‑time position with shift availability on days and evenings.
