About the role
This position directly supervises the activities of 2 or more full-time employees, including Assistant Manager(s), Lead Representative(s), and Customer Service Representative(s). The role involves leadership, store management, financial oversight, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, and train positive, enthusiastic employees to ensure excellent customer service.
- Develop, manage, and assign tasks to maintain a clean, stocked, organized, and well-kept store based on Company standards.
- Schedule employees within Company guidelines to maximize customer service and maintain store image.
- Implement non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, and employee separation.
- Develop positive and professional relationships with suppliers and resolve customer complaints in a timely, professional manner.
- Ensure regular and predictable onsite attendance and promote a safe, positive public image within the community.
- Prepare ongoing and timely performance appraisals in Workday, including 30-, 60-, 90-day check-ins, 12-month reviews, and ongoing anniversary check-ins.
- Train employees on customer service, store image, marketing execution, safety procedures, and cash handling to reduce company risk.
- Ensure employees complete all required training in a timely manner.
- Facilitate proper communication among employees and establish periodic meetings with store employees and the District Manager.
- Evaluate and develop action plans to address store needs and achieve objectives.
- Maintain all store files, manuals, reports, and merchandise displays, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze daily sales and expense information to maximize sales and net profits.
- Budget and forecast P&L lines, manage merchandise margins, and safeguard all money received and disbursed.
- Notify District Manager of any sales, cash, inventory, or operating discrepancies.
- Ensure all required employment-related posters and signs are accessible to employees.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 1 to 2 years of retail work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
- Ability to supervise and train employees on equipment, tools, and materials listed in the Customer Service Representative (CSR), Lead CSR (LSR), and Store Assistant (SA) job descriptions.
- Ability to supervise and manage functions listed in the CSR, LSR, and SA job descriptions.
- Ability to use or learn to use a computer for reports, inventory control, cash control, and employment-related forms.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Open availability.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.
- Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described.
- Ability to work in the specified conditions and operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Certifications & Licenses
- Food Server certificate (e.g., ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
- Ability to be exposed to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in a walk-in cooler, freezer, and outdoors.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., stocking inventory).
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups).
- Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for an entire shift, requiring eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (e.g., utilizing a hand-truck).
- Ability to reach overhead for objects, bend and twist at the waist, and communicate orally.
- Ability to operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull.
- Ability to work alone and stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
- Exposure to occasional noise and potential climbing of a ladder to store materials or place signs.
Work Environment
- Work requires 50 hours per week, including shifts on weekends and holidays.
- Approximately 95% of work is performed indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks such as cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, and taking out garbage.
- Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while working in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer.
- Exposure to occasional noise and minimal direction or periodic supervision.
Pay
$19.00 to $32.00 per hour.
