About the role
This leadership position directly supervises 2 or more full-time employees, including Assistant Manager(s), Lead Representative(s), and Customer Service Representative(s). The role focuses on maintaining store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, and train enthusiastic employees to uphold excellent customer service standards.
- Develop, manage, and assign tasks to ensure the store remains clean, stocked, organized, and well-kept according to Company standards.
- Schedule employees within Company guidelines to meet business needs and maximize customer service.
- Implement non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, and employee separation.
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with suppliers and resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Ensure regular and predictable onsite attendance while promoting a safe, positive public image within the community.
- Conduct timely performance appraisals in Workday, including 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins, 12-month reviews, and ongoing anniversary evaluations.
- Train employees on customer service, store image, marketing execution, safety procedures, and cash handling to reduce company risk.
- Ensure all employees complete required training in a timely manner.
- Facilitate effective communication among employees and establish periodic meetings with store staff and the District Manager.
- Develop action plans to address store needs and achieve objectives.
- Maintain and organize store files, manuals, and required reports.
- Supervise stocking, display, and pricing of merchandise to meet Company standards.
- Ensure all employment-related posters and signs are accessible to employees.
- Analyze daily sales and expense data to maximize profits and take appropriate action.
- Budget and forecast profit and loss lines, manage merchandise margins, and safeguard company funds.
- Perform financial analysis to support sales and profit goals and report discrepancies to the District Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1–2 years of retail work experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Ability to supervise and train employees on equipment, tools, and materials used in Customer Service Representative (CSR), Lead CSR (LSR), and Store Assistant (SA) roles.
- Ability to manage functions outlined in CSR, LSR, and SA job descriptions.
- Proficiency or ability to learn computer skills for report completion, inventory control, cash management, and employment forms.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Open availability for scheduling.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (orally and in writing).
- Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions as described.
- Ability to work in the specified conditions and operate a motor vehicle.
- Food Server certificate (e.g., ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
- Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in walk-in coolers/freezers and outdoors.
- Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., stocking inventory).
- Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups).
- Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for an entire shift, requiring eye-hand coordination.
- Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck).
- Reach overhead for objects, bend and twist at the waist.
- Communicate orally and operate a cash register/computer keyboard.
- Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull.
- Ability to work alone and stand/walk for an entire shift.
- Exposure to occasional noise and potential ladder climbing for material storage or sign placement.
Work Environment
- Work requires 50 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Approximately 95% of work is indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks (e.g., cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, taking out garbage).
- Exposure to extreme cold temperatures in walk-in coolers/freezers and occasional noise.
- Work with minimal direction and periodic supervision.
Pay
$19.00 to $32.00 per hour.
