Stocker - Perishables

Restaurant Depot is a wholesale cash-and-carry foodservice distributor serving independent restaurants, caterers, and not-for-profits. We provide targeted customers with savings, selection, and service seven days a week through 150+ warehouses and distribution centers in 37 states.

About the role

As a Perishables Stocker in the Deli department, you will provide prompt and courteous customer service, stock product on shelves, and maintain clean and safe work areas throughout the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous, and friendly customer service
• Remove boxes from pallets and place them on shelves; open boxes and remove single items to restock shelves
• Organize and front-face items on shelves
• Perform proper inspections to meet HACCP regulations
• Review inventory daily for product rotation to prevent shrinkage and damages
• Ensure shelf pricing is correct and reflects the most recent pricing
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness through a regular maintenance schedule, including scrubbing and cleaning under pallets
• Monitor department floors for safety hazards, promptly handle spills, and remove trash such as plastic wrap, ties, or wood
• Work with Hi-Lo operators to keep the selling floor stocked and safe by returning overstock pallets to overhead reserves
• Inform supervisors promptly of low stock or out-of-stock merchandise
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed

Physical Demands

• Walk and stand on concrete for up to 10 hours per day
• Frequently turn, stand, reach, stoop, and bend
• Frequently push or pull objects weighing 500 to 1,500 lbs.
• Frequently lift and carry objects weighing more than 60 lbs.

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to cold or freezing temperatures
• Work around moving equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and scooters
