Stock Helper

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience, will be considered for this opportunity.

About the role

This is an entry-level position and an excellent starting point for a career at Dominion Energy. The role involves work associated with the receipting, storage, and issuance of materials in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Loading/unloading of material using a forklift
• Handling, restocking, or scrapping of returned material
• Receiving/inspecting incoming materials to verify quantity and condition of goods
• Selecting and issuing items from stock; sorting and identifying materials to be stocked
• Separating and preparing materials for receipt inspection
• Performing SAP system computer functions, some through handheld scanners
• Assisting with physical inventory of material
• Using equipment: forklifts, handheld scanners, personnel cart, sweeper machines
• Organizing and filing daily paperwork/receipts associated with materials
• Analyzing data in Microsoft Excel for material deliveries
• Working within Dominion's Safety Guidelines and expectations
• Being available as needed during emergency restorations (e.g., hurricanes) and after-hour emergencies
• Performing all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience or other relevant experience
• Ability to work an 8-hour workday schedule
• Must work scheduled and emergency overtime as business needs dictate
• Prior experience in operation of a forklift; must maintain forklift operator certificate administered by Dominion Energy
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Valid driver’s license
• Prior experience using a computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work well with others in a safe atmosphere and work environment
• Ability to travel in the event of a catastrophic event
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior customer service experience
• Prior experience receiving/inspecting/restocking of inventory
• Knowledge and use of SAP

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $32.43
