About the role
The Stock Clerk (SSA) under the supervision of the Section Supervisor and Lead, performs the full range of warehouse duties. Must have knowledge of current automated systems, warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques, and utilize this to stack, palletize, and arrange items in stock locations.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) to receive, issue, and store class II, IV, and IX repair parts.
- Locate information on issue documents (MRO) and compare information on documents with parts being pulled or put-away.
- Know the procedures for processing and finalizing documentation on incoming shipments.
- Locate items from information on issue documents and compare identifying information on documents with location bin tickets and national stock number.
- Receive items from CRP, inspect items, and verify national stock number, nomenclature, quantity, and process in the G-Army system. Sign documents confirming receipt of items.
- Receive incoming shipments and assist in unloading vehicles at the loading ramp. Inspect for damages, check items received against shipping documents, and sign receipts as appropriate.
- Participate in periodic and special inventories.
- Provide customer service, answer telephones, and offer advice, guidance, and information as appropriate.
- Operate Material Handling Equipment such as pallet jacks. Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) before, during, and after use of pallet jacks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Environment
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as cloth/disposable face masks covering the nose and mouth, safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat, and eyewear in assigned areas.
- Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with various climates. Warehouse environment with limited heat or cooling abilities.
Physical Activities
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds. If an object weighs more than 50 lbs., use a “two-person lift” or a mechanical lift system.
- Must be able to operate in a warehouse and outdoor type environment.
- Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within work sites 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties.
- Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and published Company work rules.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- GCSS-Army certification must be obtained within 3 months of employment.
- Must be able to pass the standard background check.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
- Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
Experience
- 2 years or more in supply chain or logistical operations.
- Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
- Must be familiar with the Department of the Army Inventory Management System.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and interact at all levels.
- Capacity to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels.
