About the Role
The Stock Clerk II performs a variety of clerical and manual tasks related to the requisitioning, receiving, storing, and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment—including furniture—in coordination with the moving crew and central warehouse operations. This role supports the daily operation of the stockroom, follows established stock keeping procedures, and exercises sound judgment in identifying stock items, making appropriate substitutions, and initiating requests for replenishment. Additional responsibilities include assisting with event setup and maintaining the facility's recycling program.
This position is located within the Environmental Services Department at Caswell Developmental Center, which serves as North Carolina's Eastern Region resource center. The center provides specialized residential, programmatic, and support services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Requisition, receive, store, and distribute supplies, materials, and equipment
- Coordinate with moving crew and central warehouse operations
- Follow established stock keeping procedures
- Identify stock items and make appropriate substitutions
- Initiate requests for replenishment of stock
- Assist with event setup
- Maintain the facility's recycling program
Schedule
Monday through Friday, with working hours of either 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Qualifications
Candidates meet the minimum qualifications if they satisfy the education and experience requirements listed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) and Management Preferences are not required but preferred for applicants possessing the following:
- Knowledge of stock keeping procedures
- Knowledge of inventory record keeping methods and procedures
- Ability to examine incoming supplies
- Ability to ascertain purchase order specifications
- Ability to maintain routine clerical records
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to physically lift and move relatively heavy objects
Preferred Experience
- One year of experience in receipt, storage, and issuance of a variety of materials, supplies, or equipment
- Forklift Certification
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License
Physical Requirements
Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force.
Pay
Salary range: $31,200.00 - $48,810.00. Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations.
