About the Role
Under the supervision of the Manager, this role involves ordering food daily, checking incoming goods against order sheets, and assisting in inventory maintenance. You will perform routine manual labor in receiving, delivering, and storing food products, including unloading, unpacking, inspecting, and storing supplies. You may also assist in production areas, drive a corporate vehicle, and ensure compliance with NYS health codes.
Responsibilities
- Secure or unlock the building as required
- Drive a corporate vehicle if necessary
- Order food products two weeks in advance and write orders for the next day’s delivery
- Rotate all incoming stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method
- Thaw products necessary for menu items
- Communicate with employees about products needed for menu items
- Check all delivery items for accuracy and quality; report discrepancies to the Manager
- Maintain a good working knowledge of NYS Health Codes for proper food storage
- Accept and inspect direct deliveries (e.g., milk, bread, soda)
- Place milk orders by 10:00 am for the next day’s delivery
- Check soda deliveries, rotate bag-in-box products, and ensure proper storage
- Remove dented cans from shelves and transfer products for credit
- Label open freezer products with food item name and weight
- Monitor cooler and freezer temperatures; ensure working thermometers are present
- Store all products in compliance with ServSafe regulations
- Complete interdepartmental transfer sheets for borrowed items
- Alert the Manager to out-of-stock items
- Organize storerooms, freezers, and coolers for monthly inventory
- Assist in salads, bakes, deli, and cooks’ areas as needed
- Read and interpret catering sheets
- Set up coffee service without assistance
- Maintain cleanliness of refrigeration and dry storage areas
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet individual and organizational goals
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- Violation-free NYS driver’s license and authorization to drive company vehicles

Pay
$18.55 per hour
