Stock Clerk

About the Role

Receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and issue equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, tools, etc., and compile stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard/area.
• Count, sort, or weigh incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice.
• Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications.
• Store articles in bins, on the floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material.
• Fill orders or issue supplies from stock.
• Prepare periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock.
• Requisition articles to fill incoming orders.
• Compile records on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damaged stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
• May mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
• May distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
• May make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock.
• May determine methods of storage, identification and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
• May cut stock to size to fill orders as required.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent is desirable.
• Must be knowledgeable of material and supply procedures as required by the contract and/or delivery order.
• Minimum six (6) months of recent experience in general material and supply functions, either in the military service or in commercial applications.
• Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
• US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a shop environment and is exposed to disagreeable fumes in shop area.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
• The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell.
• Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds.
• Position may require travel.

Pay

$24.77 per hour.
