Stitcher 2nd shift

About the role

The Stitcher's primary objective is to accurately and efficiently sew projects with the highest level of quality, meeting internal and external deadlines. This role requires the ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-demand, and high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Able to sit or stand 8 to 10 hours per day
• Read instructions, rulers, spot flaws, and color shade differences
• Push, pull, pinch, climb on and off tables, and lift 50 lbs
• Read, write, and speak in English
• Accurately read and use rulers with 1/16" accuracy
• Use squares and apply basic math, including fractions, percentages, decimals, diameters, and radii
• Sew basic items and patterns
• Know and apply CIP, Lean techniques, and Sustainability principles
• Participate in continuous improvement teams or develop ideas to enhance company results
• Cut and sew projects accurately
• Read and follow sewing instructions and manufacturing procedures
• Check work before passing it to the next step in the process
• Read and understand work orders, cut sheets, CAD drawings, and written instructions
• Accurately measure, cut, and sew all Moss fabrics and materials
• Apply fabrication standards
• Use all machines on the Stitching floor efficiently
• Perform basic sewing machine maintenance, including tension adjustment, threading, needle and bobbin changing, stitch length adjustment, and oiling
• Use cut-sheets to accurately cut out printed graphics and match graphics when sewing
• Accurately allocate raw materials before removing them from storage
• Meet deadlines and complete assignments in a timely and productive manner while maintaining high quality standards
• Clean and organize work areas after each task; return tools and raw materials to their proper locations
• Communicate setbacks promptly to the Stitching Lead/Supervisor
• Comply with all personnel, departmental, and safety policies, including eye protection and machine guarding

Requirements

• Well-versed in technical/functional areas and knowledgeable in appropriate practices and techniques
• Demonstrates efficiency with technical skills (stitching, machining, customer service, computers, etc.)
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
• Self-motivated and able to work well independently
• Willing to participate in cross-training
• Speaks and writes clearly using appropriate grammar; good verbal and written communication
• Available for and willing to work overtime on short notice
• Able to work at a fast pace, under pressure, and multi-task during periods of high stress
