About the role
Facilitates impactful stewardship initiatives and correspondence with primary responsibility for drafting, editing, and advancing presidential and vice presidential acknowledgements. Manages key projects and processes on the Donor Engagement and Stewardship (DES) team, which creates and implements strategies to support donor engagement, fundraising, and stewardship while communicating the impact of philanthropy at MIT.
Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and advance presidential and vice presidential acknowledgements.
- Manage key projects and processes on the Donor Engagement and Stewardship (DES) team.
- Support donor engagement, fundraising, and stewardship strategies.
- Communicate the impact of philanthropy at MIT.
- Exercise discretion and sound independent judgment.
- Analyze and synthesize information, presenting it clearly.
- Build relationships and solicit information across departments.
- Manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
- Work with complex databases while maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience in a high-volume and complex organization.
- Experience managing projects and improving processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, writing, editorial, content development, and research skills.
- Knowledge of stewardship programs in higher education.
- Proven ability to exercise discretion and sound independent judgment.
- Ability to build relationships and solicit information across departments.
- Strong initiative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with complex databases and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Advanced proficiency with standard applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Ellucian Advance Web and FileMaker.
- Experience and interest in higher education and/or advancement.
Schedule
This is a full-time six-month term appointment. This is a hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work. Must be willing to work on evenings and weekends, as needed.
