About the role

The Woodland Community Land Trust AmeriCorps Program serves the rural communities of the Clearfork Valley in Appalachia, where persistent poverty, limited housing options, and economic instability challenge residents' quality of life. The program aims to break the cycle of poverty by building the organizational capacity needed to preserve land, expand affordable housing, and advance rural economic development.

Responsibilities

  • Compiling regional economic and land use research
  • Creating community asset inventories and mapping frameworks
  • Developing partnership tracking tools and regional connectivity documentation
  • Drafting small business and craft incubator planning materials
  • Producing program curriculum guides and training resources
  • Researching commercial kitchen models and operational requirements
  • Developing grant proposal templates and funding research summaries
  • Creating website content structure and digital resource organization tools for program visibility and internal use

Requirements

United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien. College graduate. Agrees to provide information to establish eligibility and to complete a National Service Criminal History Check. Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to safely drive an organizational vehicle may also be required for some positions.

Schedule
