Description Of Duties

• Developing a regional energy transition and economic expansion framework
• Organizing centralized datasets related to workforce, industry, and energy trends
• Creating staff-ready planning tools that support long-term decision-making
• Designing a stakeholder engagement system that documents partners, priorities, and collaboration pathways
• Producing resource guides and planning materials that identify funding, research, and development pathways
• Developing an economic diversification roadmap with prioritized, implementation-ready projects and tools
• Informing future updates to the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

Qualifications

• United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien
• College graduate

Purpose

This AmeriCorps Program at Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation (EPEDC) aims to strengthen economic resilience and long-term sustainability across rural communities in southeastern Montana by building systems that support strategic planning, investment, and workforce development.

Physical Requirements

• Erecting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to safely drive an organizational vehicle may also be required for some positions.

Benefits

• Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $7,395.00 or choice of cash stipend of ~$1,800.00
• Living Allowance of $68.39 per day, disbursed every 2 weeks

Evaluation And Reporting

As an AmeriCorps VISTA member, performance will be evaluated on whether the member has completed their required year of service; the member has satisfactorily completed assignments; and if the member has met other performance criteria that were clearly communicated at the beginning of the term of service.
