About the role
Limelight Hotels by Aspen One provide authentic and contemporary connections to their communities and the adventures that surround them. Each Limelight hotel is inspired by place, united by purpose, and set in the heart of elevated and unique locations across Colorado, Idaho, California, and South Carolina.
The Steward is responsible for cleaning and storing all flatware, silver, glass, kitchen trays, pots, and pans according to the direction of the restaurant management team. This position also assists in food preparation as requested and reports to the Kitchen Manager.
Responsibilities
- Clean and stack all dishes properly
- Store dishes and silver in the designated locations
- Set up cleaning area: assemble dish machine, fill water tanks, and turn on heating elements
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including pre- and post-shift cleaning (kitchen equipment, walk-in fridge/freezer, dry storage, trash, recycling, mopping, sweeping)
- Assist with storage of food deliveries
- Clean kitchen walls, floors, loading docks, and other associated areas
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble dishwasher prior to end of shift
- Post caution signs when floors are wet or being mopped
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition
- Assist with preparing food items according to chef specifications
- Follow daily preparation list to ensure items are ready for service
- Report any problems with food product, kitchen equipment, or work area to the Executive Steward
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred
- ServSafe or similar food safety course certification is preferred
- Great knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Familiarity with company rules, regulations, and operational standards
- Basic industry terminology
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify straightforward issues and propose simple solutions
- Ability to follow oral or written directions in basic English
- Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes in processes, customer flow, environments, and tasks with great attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk, or be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Regularly work in wet, hot, and humid conditions for extended periods
- May be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance

Pay
$20.00 to $24.00 per hour; actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience.
