Job Summary

Reports to Operations Supervisor or Surgical Technician as required. Performs services related to the setup, reprocessing and care of patient use equipment & surgical instruments. Performs inventory control functions related to supply areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An accredited High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in Sterile Processing, Nursing or Surgery with strong commitment to implementing Infection Control, disinfection and sterilization principles preferred
  • Basic computer competency required
  • Willingness to learn and understand surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and decontamination and sterile processing equipment
  • Understands and can identify the cleaning products, methods and procedures used in SPD for each item based on manufacturers IFU’s preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable.
  • Ability to hear (with or without aides)
  • Ability to orally communicate
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to push, pull, roll, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk frequently
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently
