Sterile Processing Technician
Job Summary
The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for proper decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and storage of instrumentation for surgery and outside departments.
Qualifications
- Cert Sterile Proc/DistribTech, or Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT), or Certified Surgical Technician (CST) preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare instruments and supplies through cleaning, packing, sterilizing, and storing procedures
- Understand the principles of sterilization techniques and operate sterilization equipment
- Assemble all instruments, trays, and drays for operating rooms according to policies and procedures
- Perform equipment distribution and routing cleaning and maintenance
- Perform crash cart restocking/exchange
- Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
