Responsibilities

• Assembles and processes instruments sets, trays, supplies and linen; prioritizes trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.
• Utilizes and troubleshoots steam sterilizers.
• Follows proper techniques and procedures to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process.
• Disassembles, decontaminates, and processes instrumentation according to manufacturer and industry standards.
• Ensures instrumentation is reassembled correctly and functioning properly.

Requirements

• Role Purpose: The Sterile Processing Technician performs a variety of central sterile processing functions, which include the decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to the operating room (OR) and other areas throughout the hospital.
• Minimum Requirements: Education - High School Diploma or GED; Experience - No Experience; Supervisor Experience - No Experience; Preferred Requirements - Bd for Sterile Processing/Dist, CRCST, IAHCSMM.
