Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of duties in relationship to decontamination, preparation/assembly, sterilization, and distribution of trays/sets, equipment, and supplies with direct supervision.
- Participates in distribution of operating room supplies and trays/sets.
- Performs routine cleaning such as wiping down tables.
- Assembles accurate/complete surgical trays.
- Participates with and monitors the process of building accurate and timely assembling of case carts for emergent/urgent and elective cases.
- Maintains and prevents cross contamination by observing dress codes, environmental policies, and traffic control.
Requirements
- No experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of a Sterile Processing and/or Surgical Technology program, 6 months relevant clinical experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Within 18 months must attain a Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) and/or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification.
Skills
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
