Cleaning and Reprocessing
The CSR Central Sterile and Reprocessing Specialist cleans contaminated instruments and trays using proper cleaning techniques, including following manufacturers' recommendations for care and handling. They must also understand OSHA guidelines regarding body substance isolation.
They may clean and assemble vendor instrument sets/specialty instrument sets and maintain relationships with vendors. Reprocesses vendor/specialty instrument sets and trays using advanced techniques. Operates complex washers utilizing proper quality and safety standards. Understands the need for hand washing of micro instruments and electronic devices. Assembles and labels instruments for sterilization, understanding the differences between instruments and completing sets with minimal errors. Assembles sets from multiple services such as orthopedic, neuro, cardiothoracic, general surgery, ENT, urology, gyn, and plastic surgery. Autoclaves items based on manufacturer recommendations.
Essential Functions
- Circulates case carts after receiving preference cards from surgical sites.
- Responds to requests for unexpected needs and emergency items 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Requirements
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of an accredited Central Sterile Reprocessing program or six to twelve months of relevant experience desired.
- Certification in Sterile Reprocessing preferred.

- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay
Minimum of $18.83 per hour.
Schedule
Shift: 3pm-11:30pm OR 11pm-7:30am.
