The Role
The Sterile Processing Tech at St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center plays a vital link in patient care, ensuring the highest quality, sterile instrumentation is always available to medical teams. You will meticulously process and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, assemble trays, conduct quality checks, and maintain inventory. You'll provide excellent service to patients, physicians, and staff, ensuring tools are safe and ready for procedures.
Duties
- Prepares and delivers case carts. Utilizes aseptic technique when handling and distributing sterile instruments and supplies.
- Decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment, flexible endoscopes and other medical devices.
- Ability to assemble, package and label, clinics surgical services and all other hospital instrumentation for various methods of sterilization.
- Answers telephone, fills orders, issues and stocks supplies.
- Utilizes various methods of high/low temp sterilization and disinfection processes.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- Completion of a surgical instrument technician program or 2 years surgical instrument experience preferred
