Responsibilities
A Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) is responsible for:
- Decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing medical instruments and equipment used in healthcare settings.
- Maintaining strict sterilization standards to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician certification program.
- Certification through CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management).
