Sterile Processing Team Lead
About the role
Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores and distributes equipment, supplies, instruments and endoscopes used in patient care. Assists area clinical staff by using specialized knowledge in surgical instrumentation and procedures to prepare for surgical cases. Provides technical guidance to others involved in the assembly of instrumentation and preparation of case carts. Trains team on various skills and tasks. Acts as a resource or mentor for the team and assists Manager with scheduling, training and inventory duties.
Responsibilities

- Assists with the setup and teardown of operating rooms
- Trains team on various skills and tasks
- Provides technical guidance to others involved in the assembly of instrumentation and preparation of case carts
- Acts as a resource or mentor for the team and assists Manager with scheduling, training and inventory duties
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One national certification (CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, CST)
- A second national certification related to central service or sterile processing (Examples: CIS, CSIP, CFER, CST, CHMM, CHL)
- 24 CE credits annually focusing on technical information related to the CS field
- Maintain current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist obtained from the NBSTSA if in a hybrid OR/SPD role
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated expertise in surgical instrumentation and procedures
- Advanced preceptor skills and experience in mentoring and coaching
- Basic computer skills
- Strong knowledge of Endo instrumentation function and maintenance
