  • Schedule: Monday-Friday Morning Shift: 1: 7:30 am–4:00 pm EST Mid-Day Shift: 11:00 am-7:30 pm EST Afternoon Shift: 330 pm-12:00 am EST

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
    • Certified from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
    • Graduated from a recognized CRCST or Tech program with 2+ years of SPS experience
    • Veteran Affairs (VA) Level 1 certification with 2+ years of SPS experience.
    • 5+ years verifiable hands-on SPS experience (non-certified)
    • In-depth knowledge of Infection Control Procedures
    • Able to adapt to changing priorities and handle high-pressure situations
    • Competence with decontamination, sterilization, and inventory tracking equipment
    • Skilled in extreme precision in cleaning, assembling and inspecting instruments
    • Knowledge of PPE, OSHA standards, and biological testing protocols
    • Able to work with Instrument Tracking System (Censitrac) to input workload and capture instrument tracking data

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday Morning Shift: 1: 7:30 am–4:00 pm EST Mid-Day Shift: 11:00 am-7:30 pm EST Afternoon Shift: 330 pm-12:00 am EST
  • 95% of the time is involved in direct patient care.
  • Perform all sterilization and HLD processes (Steam, Sterrad, VPRO, Medivator, Trophon, Cidex OPA)
  • Clean, inspect, assemble, and store surgical instruments and RMD identify and replace damaged instruments
  • Conduct biological and chemical testing, Bowie-Dick tests, and QA documentation
  • To clean, inspect, assemble, and store surgical instruments and RMD identify and replace damaged instruments
  • Support a wide range of surgical specialties (General, GYN, Ortho, ENT, Urology, Vascular, Dental, Robotics, Podiatry, etc.)
  • Handle flexible endoscopes and follow manufacturer IFUs
  • Perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and pushing carts
  • Conduct Biological testing of sterilization efficacy utilizing commercially available incubated biological test vials
  • Chemical indicators, internal and external, are used for identifying steam sterilization exposure
  • Use, purpose, and correct interpretation of the Bowie-Dick test
  • Interpretation and proper recording of the results of all sterilization tests
  • Must have a working knowledge of standard procedures for the use of chemical sterilization, such as Starred
  • 5% of time not involved in direct patient care

Qualifications
