Summary

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026. The first cut-off dates for referral of eligible applications will be 4/27/2026. All eligible applicants will be reviewed and referred to the hiring manager no later than 5/5/2026. Eligible applications received after 4/27/2026 date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis.

Examining and Inspection of Condition of Instrumentation, Supplies and RMD

- Collect and receive all used, soiled reusable critical and semi-critical RMD, using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and infection control procedures to prevent cross-contamination. - Properly disassemble technical medical instrumentation and equipment, requiring dexterity, skill, careful positioning, and elimination of bioburden.

Cleaning Surgical Instrumentation and RMD

- Systematically clean, disinfect, and sterilize instrumentation and equipment according to strict Manufacturer Instructions for Use (MIFU), differentiating by sight items that may require varying methods. - Clean, high-level disinfect, and/or sterilize endoscopes, including upper and lower GI endoscopes, cystoureteroscopy fiberscopes, video intubation scopes, transesophageal transducers, and various ultrasound probes.

Quality Assurance

- Independently operate a variety of high- and low-temperature sterilization equipment, including steam and hydrogen peroxide plasma, ensuring quality assurance testing is completed and documented. - Prepare full range of trays and sets necessary for various areas of the medical center, reassembling surgical instrument sets as needed for different specialties.

Operations

- Utilize computer programs, such as Microsoft Office, for record keeping, tracking operations, maintaining quality assurance records, and communicating with other personnel. - Perform peer training, user training, and instructions regarding correct operating and preventative maintenance procedures of medical instrumentation and equipment. - Identify trends, recommend solutions, and implement quality improvement initiatives and programs related to program effectiveness.

Qualifications

- Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship, proficiency in spoken and written English, and completion of a background/security investigation. - Experience: Six months of experience or two years of education above high school, including at least 12 semester hours in health care related courses. - Certification: None. - Knowledge: Universal precautions for safety and prevention of cross contamination, medical terminology, sterilization and cleaning equipment, communication skills. - Education: Four academic years above high school leading to a Bachelor's degree with at least 12 semester hours in courses related to the occupation or a Bachelor's degree. - KSAs: Basic knowledge of surgical instruments, event-related packaging, sterilization and cleaning equipment, and ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
