Summary
This position coordinates daily activities between the Operating Room and Central Sterile Services to facilitate efficient case flow.
Responsibilities
- Performs inventory replacement procedures.
- Ensures continuity and quality of services by providing support services in the O.R. suite.
- Mets with Operating Room staff and surgeons as needed to discuss SPD needs.
- Communicates with SPD staff prior to cases to ascertain specific instrument and supply needs and ensures these items are available.
- Responds to problem calls from in the OR and resolve issues in an expeditious manner.
- Serves as a liaison with the Instrument Coordinator to ensure instruments are maintained/repaired as needed and available for cases.
- Ensures all instruments are properly arranged in instrument trays and have no broken insulation or broken operational parts.
- Verifies that required instrumentation has been sterilized and is available for next-day, call or weekend cases.
- Completes documentation as required for inventory, equipment requests, instrument sets, etc.
- Consistently conveys that customers are the highest priority and communicates in a manner that promotes and sustains customer satisfaction and encourages others to do the same.
- Responsible for service level data collection.
Requirements
- SPD Certification Required.
- Two (2) years of sterile processing experience.
