Sterile Processing Operating Room Liaison

About the role

The Sterile Processing Operating Room Liaison at Matthews Medical Center functions as a key intermediary between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments. This role involves identifying areas for process improvement and enhancing communication between the departments.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address opportunities for improvement in instrumentation and case cart delivery processes.
• Lead initiatives to enhance communication and coordination between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments.
• Ensure continuity and quality of services by providing support in the Operating Room suite.
• Adhere to best practices and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years’ experience in Sterile Processing if certified.
• Minimum of five years' experience in Sterile Processing if not certified.
• Recognized SPD Certification (CRCST, CSPDT, CBSPD).
• Maintain certification status and meet annual educational requirements.
• Ability to perform skills validation and competency testing.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic techniques.
• Read and comprehend medical terminology.
