About the role

Manages the daily operations of the Sterile Processing and Distribution area.

Responsibilities

  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management.
  • Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.
  • Maintains departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations.
  • Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Affirms the quality of services delivered. Works closely with clinical areas to determine and meet their requirements for medical equipment and supplies.
  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Sterile Processing with progressive leadership experience.

  • Certified Central Service Vendor Partner (CCSVP) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
  • Certified Endoscope Preprocessor (CER) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
  • Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
  • Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - International Assc of Healthcare Central Svc Material Mgmt (IAHCSMM)
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Manager (CSPDM) - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
