Responsibilities
- Decontamination, prepping, packaging, and sterilization of all instrumentation processed through the department following established department procedures.
- Acts as preceptor, mentor, and resource in support of department team members.
- Knowledge of decontamination processes, preparation, and packaging, sterilization techniques based on manufacturer recommendations, and storage of sterilized items.
- Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up.
- Interpreting policies, procedures, and protocols and reviewing performance in compliance with recognized standards.
Requirements
- High School or Equivalent
- HSPA (Health System Performance Assessment)
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)
- CBSPDT (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Technicians)
Preferred
- Hospital Experience
