Responsibilities

• Responsible for the decontamination, prepping, packaging and sterilization of all instrumentation processed through the department following established department procedures.
• Acts as preceptor, mentor and resource in support of department team members.

Skills

• Knowledge of decontamination processes, preparation, and packaging; sterilization techniques based on manufacturer recommendations; storage of sterilized items; sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up; interpreting policies, procedures, and protocols; and reviewing performance in compliance with recognized standards.

Requirements

• High School or Equivalent
• HSPA (Health System Performance Assessment)
• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)
• CBSPDT (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Technicians)
• Preferred Hospital Experience
