Stephenville Bakery - Cake Decorator - Part time

Responsibilities

• Apply proper decorating techniques and maintain quality of products by following guidelines.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product on a daily basis while maintaining all department and food safety/sanitation standards.
• Provide superior customer service, including taking cake orders via telephone or in person with accuracy.
• Answer customer questions regarding products and assist them with selections using suggestive selling techniques.
• Apply proper decorating techniques for each item according to visual training aids (VTAs) to produce quality cakes and pastries.
• Write on cakes with icing upon request.
• Read and execute daily production list through cake flow.
• Ensure quality control of all products before sending to sales floor per VTAs.
• Ensure cake product reaches the showcase and tables at prescribed times.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively, including slicing, packaging, labeling, and rotating products.
• Record production and shrink to aid in production planning.
• Maintain sanitation in work area and comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards.
• Comply with department/store operating procedures and operate/maintain all equipment properly.

Qualifications & Key Requirements

• Age 18+
• 1+ years of experience required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (e.g., PC, symbol, scales, label machine)
• Strong customer service skills

• Planning and organizing skills

Education

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent

Licenses/Certifications

• Completion of Company Orientation
• Safety training
• eCommerce Online Ordering training upon hire

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Function in a fast-paced, retail environment with detailed and precise tasks.
• Work with customers, staying attentive to their needs.
• Constantly stand, reach at waist, grasp.
• Occasionally walk, reach at overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, stair climb, pivot, twist, arm push/pull, pinch, utilize fine motor skills.
• Occasionally be exposed to wet, cold, hot conditions, and loud noise.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and manage in excess of 25 lbs.
