Stepdown RN
About the Role
As our Registered Nurse in the Stepdown Unit at CHI St. Vincent, you will help patients transitioning from intensive care achieve optimal health and independence so they can return home safely and confidently. You will provide direct patient care, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers, and act as an advocate for patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and monitoring vital signs.
- Manage complex patient needs and care for multiple patients of varying ages and conditions per shift.
- Monitor patients using life-saving medical equipment such as IVs, catheters, feeding tubes, and ventilators.
- Check patients' health status daily and document any changes or concerns.
- Create a comfortable and secure environment for patients while advocating for their needs.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Arkansas upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 12 months.
- Previous step-down and/or ICU experience required for PRN roles.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
